Every few minutes, a above message appears on my screen. How do I turn this off. It started when I compacted for the first time. 1 person needs an answerI do too

If you have Desktop Search installed, then go to Control Panel | Indexing options and exclude OE from the indexing. Also make sure you allow it to finish compacting. Thanks for the reply.I went to the article mentioned and found the location in the registry. Changed the value to "0". Everything seems to be fine now. What I don't understand is this. My machine is never shut off. OE is always open. How did a count of "142" show up as the value in the number of times OE was shut dowm. OE hasn't been shut down more than 20 times in the past year and never since the last time I compacted. Any hints? Vince

Some other program is likely accessing OE.
